Blue Monday...

Blue Monday. Officially the most miserable day of the year, and it's TODAY.

The third Monday of the year is said to be the most depressing day of the whole year - thanks to the deadly combination of bad weather, debts, colds and flu, and generally feeling down after Christmas. Oh dear!

All is not lost, though. Choir with No Name Birmingham are doing a gig called 'Blue Monday with a Twist' - it's taking place this Thursday 24th January and we'd love to see you in the audience. Find out more!

Here at the Choir with No Name, our work with homeless people and others on the margins is inspired by the fact that singing with other people is actually scientifically proven to make you feel better.

recent study by Oxford Brookes University psychologists found that choir singers reporting far higher levels of mental wellbeing than people who sang in the bath, or played a team sport.

PS - if you can't make it to our Birmingham gig, here's a New Order video of their hit song 'Blue Monday' and a live feed of rescue kittens to help pick you up. And you might also be encouraged to hear that apparently, 'Blue Monday' is a load of old cobblers - a myth created by a drinks company that has no basis in science at all. Phew!!
