2024-2027 Strategy

Our core aims remain consistent across the years, but our big focus in 2024-2027 is on developing the infrastructure and resources to grow. We don’t just want to grow, but we want to grow well - based on secure foundations and ensuring each new area we grow into is the right one. As a result, our 2024-2027 strategy focuses on just this and has four components: investing in skills, building the infrastructure around our inclusive communities, developing our financial sustainability and resilience and broadening our impact.

Investing in skills

We're confident our approach works—our members consistently affirm its success. However, we're committed to being a learning organisation, continually striving for improvement. Our focus is on fostering safe, fun, and supportive choir communities and delivering standout performances. Our two aims within this strand of our strategy are:

  • develop artistic and programmatic organisational practices

  • develop the evidence base that underpins our model and practice

Broadening our impact

Over the next three years, we aim to amplify our tried and tested choir model by launching new choirs nationwide, engaging people with experience of homelessness and marginalisation. We'll also share our insights with other choir leaders countrywide to expand our impact even further.

  • Double our choirs across the UK, creating regional networks for collaborative projects and mutual support.

  • Share our inclusive and accessible choir director practices, honed by top music directors, with choir leaders across the UK. This will help the choir sector create more inclusive spaces, where members to feel welcome and supported in community choirs.

Building strong, inclusive communities

Community describes our commitment to providing a choir community week in, week out. Regular, reliable rehearsals that breathe our values, reduce isolation and provides a place to belong. We value co-production and power sharing at the heart of this aim.

  • Build community frameworks to support members to take on meaningful roles and responsibilities

  • Curate local communities that breathe our values

Continuing to develop financial sustainability

At Choir with No Name, we're committed for the long haul. We strive for each of our choirs to operate for at least three years, usually significantly longer, providing people with ample opportunity to build community through the power of singing together.

  • Expand our investment in fundraising and diversify income streams to reduce reliance on trusts and foundations, while still valuing them as a core support base.

  • Deepen the integration of each choir within its local community by forming partnerships with multiple organisations and enhancing our financial sustainability.
