At the Choir with No Name, we take great care to safeguard personal data provided by our supporters and to process this data fairly and lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
When providing details about yourself you can be confident that:
- Any information you provide online is confidential and secure
- We will always endeavour to keep accurate and up to date information on you
- We will not pass on your details to other organisations, other than to HMRC for Gift Aid purposes.
When will I need to provide my details?
If you wish to sign up for our email newsletter or get in touch via the form on our Contact Us page you will need to provide us with your name and email address. These details are temporarily stored on our website, but are systematically deleted once the message has been received by us.
If you are donating to us via our online form, your contact details and information about your donation will be kept on our secure supporter database, hosted by Blackbaud Europe. We do not have access to, or store, credit card or bank account details online. When donating, you will be asked to fill out your postal address and contact details for the purposes of reclaiming Gift Aid on your donation. These details are also stored on our secure supporter database. You can also opt in to recieving our e-newsletter and/or fan club newsletter, but can opt out of receiving them anytime via a link at the bottom of every newsletter. If you have made a donation to us, we may contact you regarding the donation (eg. if there is a problem recieving the funds, or to acknowledge receipt of payment).

Why do you need my details?
There are several reasons why we need or would like to keep your details in order to send you any information you have requested or to deal with any subsequent queries.
If you signed up to our e-newsletter, we need your details as we would like to keep you updated on the work we do, our gigs and campaigns. We would like to keep your details to keep you informed of news, activities and events that may be of interest to you and opportunities to get involved. We will only do this if you agree that you wish to be kept updated.
If you have donated to us via our website and also filled out a gift aid declaration, we retain the details you provide on our secure supporter database in order to ensure that we have the information needed for accounting and tax purposes. We also like to have your details so that we can contact you to say thank you!
Google Analytics – we use this tool to understand how the site is being used in order to improve it for our users by making it easier to use and more accessible. User data is all anonymous.
Bit.ly - We sometimes use a short tracking code on links we send out in email newsletters, on pages on our website and post on social networks. We cannot use this to identify people personally. It is used to understand how people share and respond to our communications to help us improve them.

Sometimes we embed content from external sources on our website. The most common kind of content embedded on the site are videos from YouTube and our Twitter feed. These services may collect statistics and information on your use of the embedded content, so please check their specific privacy policies.
